Cat in the hat it6/29/2023 ![]() You’ll pass picket fences and vibrant green bushes before arriving at the front porch of a pink house (my dream house tbh) to find shelter from the rain. Stylized just like the art from the book, this world is a little wobbly, wonky, and you’ll hardly ever see a straight line. Moving on!) The Queueīefore we meet our very special house guest, we must walk under a giant hat to enter… the outdoors? (Don’t question the magic of the hat.) We aren’t just anywhere outside, we are in front of the home of a brother and a sister who just said goodbye to their mother while she goes off to complete a hefty grocery list. (Tired of the rhyming yet? No? I knew I liked you. He’s got a few tricks up his - hat - but you’ll have to read on some more to learn about that. In a totally-not-scary, well-intended, bring-on-the-fun-that-is-funny fashion, the visitor makes it their personal mission to better a day where the sun is not sunny. ![]() ![]() Based on the book by the same title, The Cat in The Hat at Universal Islands of Adventure is truly a wild ride following the story of two children whose boring, rainy day takes a turn when an unexpected visitor enters through the front door. ![]()

![]() ![]() My friend and I spent the last two weeks in isolation after getting back from Europe before heading home listening to this. There was so much life and personality with these characters, all beautifully performed by Atherton. I, for once, keep looking for Calcifer whenever and wherever there is a fire - because who knows - there might just be a firedemon residing in the flames. If you haven't read or listened to this story yet, I highly recommend it - the very special story and charactors will grow on you and you won't be able to forget them, once the story is over. ![]() Previously, it had been unavaiable to me for country restrictions, so great was the happiness when I discovered that I could now revisit some of the most cherished imagination memories. ![]() Immediately went to Audible to look for an audio edition of the book. I'd forgotten the book untill recently, when I came across my paper copy during a tidy up. I listened on old cassette tapes several times spending hours listening to the stories about Howl, Sophie - and of course - Calcifer. The first words by the narrator are always critical - does the narration live up to the excellent childhood memory? My first encounter with this store, was the Danish translation as an audio book. Sometimes, there's nothing like revisiting an all time childhood favourite, such as this one. ![]()
